Chinese-Style Vegetarian Stir Fry

about the veg stir fry, can i use another oil other than sesame? and can i sub for the rice vinegar(where does one find rice vinegar?) also where do i geet glass noodles, how are they diff than egg nooldles?

Hey Cindy!

The sesame oil in this recipe is used as a flavouring, not as an oil per se. So, if you don't have it - just leave it out. It gives another depth of flavour but it definitely is not essential. Like the soya sauce is essential. But the sesame oil is not.

As for rice vinegar - it can be found in the supermarket with all the other vinegars - it's a smallish bottle and the vinegar is a very light, clear yellow. But you can us regular vinegar with 1/2 tsp. sugar added instead. The flavour of rice vinegar is a bit milder.

Glass noodles are found right with all the other noodles. They're white in colour - they look a little opaque in the package, they are really easy to use because you soak them instead of boiling them. The glass noodles are different than egg noodles because they aren't made with flour. They're made from starch (such as mung bean starch, potato starch or rice starch), and water. Just a different flavour and texture but you know what, you can substitute regular noodles too.
